Now and Then

I love looking at old photographs. It's even better if it's a place you been to recently. A snap shot in time so you can compare and contrast. But if that place is where you currently live, then it's a bit odd...


Above is my house, circa 1900.



Above: My house now, circa Realtor photo and then a few days ago.

I tried to take it from 2 similar but different angles to show just how much has and hasn't changed.

Let's start with what is no longer there. I see a tree (aww poor tree), a fence (that is a really good idea, I was wondering why there is just a steep drop off for my accident prone self to fall off of),  the road is super close now and I don't have a bad ass sled thing.

Wait... WHAT THE HELL? WHERE DID THAT DOOR GO?? THERE WAS A DOOR THERE??? Or am I missing some of my house??? OMG I AM MISSING HALF MY HOUSE!!!

AH AH AH AH AH!!!!!

Sorry... I just noticed this. Ok the back staircase now makes more sense. Man what the heck...

I also see that a 3rd dormer window was added. I need to do more research, dang it I want half my house back!

    I know! It was so pretty. I bit they removed it to put the dumb road in. That's one of the reasons why the house is on the historical registry, so the city cant try to take any more land for the road. Across the street is a lake so not much room there either.
